IVC Ghost Post

Here is what has been happening on the IVC scene this past September…
On Monday, September 1, the IVC Marching Grey Ghosts participated in Toluca’s Labor Day Parade. The band also earned first place in their class at Washington High School’s band competition on Saturday, September 6th. The IVC Marching Grey Ghosts also hosted their first marching band competition at Taylor Field on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Thank you to everyone in the community who supported this event!

On Wednesday, September 17th, IVC German students participated in the German Radtour and spent the day riding bikes and speaking in German in preparation for the arrival of GAPP students (German American Partnership Program) from Koblenz, Germany, on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025.

On Friday, September 19th, the IVC counselors hosted an “Off to College Parent Breakfast” for parents of senior students at the Chillicothe Public Library. This event provided information about planning and preparing for education beyond IVC High School.

Sunday, September 21, 2025 started the IVC Homecoming week with a bang as students decorated the halls of IVC to the theme of “Board Games.”  Students celebrated the week with dress-up days, class competitions, the Powder Puff football game, skits and bonfire, the Homecoming parade, Homecoming game vs. Prairie Central, and the Homecoming dance. We would like to thank the community for their support as we celebrated our school, our classmates, and town.

On Monday, September 29th, IVC hosted “Financial Aid Night.”  This event explained the process of completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) that students need to complete for college entrance.

Here is what is happening on the IVC scene this October…
GAPP students from Koblenz, Germany arrive on October 1st, and they will experience many field trips as well as time in IVC classrooms. IVC students look forward to this visit every two years, and several IVC students will visit Germany in the summer of 2026. We appreciate everything that our Chillicothe community does to welcome our German guests!

On Tuesday, October 21st, IVC High School will have parent/teacher conferences from 4 - 7:30pm. During this time, parents are invited to attend 2 additional events:  the FAFSA ISAC Open House from 4-7pm and the ICC AP/CLEP parent presentation from 6-7pm.

On Thursday, October 23rd, IVC will have its second evening of parent/teacher conferences from 4-7:30pm. IVC will also host a “Scheduling 101” parent meeting from 6-7pm on this date. Look for additional information about this event on the ParentSquare app.

Lastly, IVC High School will hold a Red Cross Blood Drive on Friday, October 31st (Halloween) from 8am-1pm. We greatly appreciate any community members who are able to donate during this event.

Once again, IVCHS thanks our Chillicothe community for your continued support of our sports and activities.
