The Chillicothe Voice

Chillicothe Public Library Is Grateful for Community Connections

With the holidays just around the corner, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what inspires gratitude in your life. At Chillicothe Public Library, we are grateful for the many ways that we get to connect with our community.

We are especially grateful for the opportunity to learn from experienced members of our community. In November, we will learn about the Indigenous story of Chillicothe from Jo Lakota and Jimmy Lakota Edwards. This will be a great way to learn more about the history of the land we all call home.

The library is the perfect place to share ideas. Our collection contains a wide variety of books, DVDs, periodicals, and more, including materials specific to our community, like our fire safety and local history collections. Adults are welcome to discuss books and sip on their favorite brew at monthly Books & Brew meetings.

We are also thankful that the library is a great place to connect with people who share similar interests. There are regular groups for practicing cooking, fiber arts, and speaking Spanish. Our monthly concerts and Old-Time Folk and Country Jam are free and fun to bring together music fans.

We know how important it is to have a safe, welcoming space to spend time with the whole family, and we’re thankful to have so many opportunities to connect with children and families in our community. Whether your family joins us for Homeschool Library Hour, weekly Lego Club, or this month’s Family Reading and Kneading Night, we are grateful for the many ways we can help you connect with other local families.

Of course, we are grateful to serve such a wonderful community. From attending events, to checking out materials, your support of our work here at Chillicothe Public Library means so much to us! You can find the dates and times for all of our programs, as well as registration information, at chillicothepubliclibrary.org. We look forward to connecting with you!
