2025 Was a Great Success
Vielen Dank, Chillicothe! Thank you to everyone who made Nikolausmarkt 2025 a great success! Over the weekend of November 21 and 22, 2025, visitors to City Park enjoyed sweet treats, holiday music & performances, and shopped from artisans selling from their chalets. On Friday, crowds braved the rain to ring in the holiday season with the lighting of the Christmas trees. Skies cleared just in time for a busy Saturday starting with our 5K walk/run, watching performances by several groups, including John & Gabi, the IVC Color Guard, the St. Edward’s Cheer Team, among others, and the German American Central Society’s Damenchor & Alpenhorn, who heralded Santa’s arrival to the stage after the parade. All afternoon Saturday, downtown Chillicothe businesses were also busy serving up festive foods and drinks as well as hosting holiday-themed activities for the whole family. Across town, Picket Fence and Evergreen Senior Living also saw great turnouts at their holiday events.
We want to say thank you to the City of Chillicothe, as well as to all participating businesses and organizations that made for a truly city-wide holiday celebration! A special thank you to the IVC High School National Honor Society, Hiveworks, LZT Tree Service, & ML Woodcrafts for their additional support throughout the weekend. Finally, a huge shoutout to our Nikolausmarkt team & volunteers — Jackie Bastain, Lynn Barrister, Amanda Beadles, Barry Bredeman, Andrea Bredeman, Mr. & Mrs. Brett Cantwell, Trish Westerman Connor, JB Culbertson, Lorelei Lawson, Kylie Milliken, Patti Mough, and Trevor Nigus. We could not have done it without you!
