Chillicothe Circle of Service recently recognized attorney Richard V. Laukitis with their first annual Difference Maker award. Laukitis has done pro bono work for Chillicothe Altrusa (now Chillicothe Circle of Service) for many years and provided the legal guidance for Circle to disassociate from Altrusa International, allowing our organization to focus our efforts and monies in the Chillicothe community. Richard is retiring at the end of the year, and Circle thanks him for his advice over the years. Presented a basket of goodies from Chillicothe merchants, including sausages, cheese, cookies, candy, BBQ sauce and other items, he was thankful for the recognition. Assistant Cammie Coffey was given a Grab & Go bouquet from Picket Fence.

‘Twas the Christmas season, and we love to celebrate the holidays with dinner at Grecian Gardens, planned and hosted by co-chairs Kitty Baxter and Marti Boyle and committee members Donna Armstrong, Jane Funk, Laurie March and Char Williamson. During dinner, we enjoyed music performed by John and Gabi. They’re IVC high school seniors who have a large repertoire of genres and can keep your toes tapping for a long time!

At our December get-together, we welcomed Yolonda Lawson as a new Chillicothe Circle of Service member. She was the recipient of an Altrusa (Circle of Service) scholarship in the early 2000s and looks forward to supporting our activities.
