The Chillicothe Voice

Chillicothe Lions Club

Well, another Christmas has come and gone, and I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. Some of us might still be looking for New Year’s resolutions. If helping others in some way while having some fun along the way yourself might be one of these, please consider one of the organizations here in Chillicothe to pay a visit to, and possibly join.

If you are interested and want a possible example, please come visit us at our next event. The second Saturday in February, the Rotary Club and Lions Club join together and have an Eagles Watch Day breakfast at the Shore Acres Clubhouse. Rotary club members do an excellent job cooking the pancakes and sausage. The Lions club helps with setting up the tables before the event, keeping the tables stocked during the event (Syrup, butter, coffee, juice, etc.). In the past, Wildlife Prairie Park has come and brought some wild birds they have for viewing. Photos of eagles with awards to top ones. There are High school students who volunteer and help as well with bringing food and refreshments to the tables.

The money made from this is split between the clubs to help others, one way or another, in our community who have needs. I will have an update on this event in more detail next month, but please, if you are thinking about joining an organization, come see us in action for your consideration. Thank you.
