Scott and Tracy Mohn (pronounced Moon), originally from Peoria, moved to Chillicothe more than 20 years ago. Tracy is a nurse, and Scott had been working at another established roofing company in Peoria for over 20 years. He was then superintendent for 10 years, but has a lifetime experience of 35 years. In 2022, Scott took a leap of faith and started his own roofing business, Rescue Roofing. Barely in the aftermath of COVID, timing was not on their side. They started the roofing business out of their home, while Tracy left her job at a Peoria nursing home to fully commit to and support the business. Putting her all into Rescue Roofing, handling the books, answering calls, and making appointments. From the beginning, Rescue Roofing has been a business built upon the crucial foundations of not only hard work and knowledge but also deeply rooted in family and faith values.
At the same time, the business was getting off the ground, Scott’s mother had passed away, and Scott and Tracy took on Scott’s adopted little sister. After raising their two sons, nothing could prepare for the whirlwind a new teenager would throw into the mix. While running a growing business, the family also had to deal with additional health scares and yet in the midst of it all continued steadfast. So much in life that is uncontrollable, but where Scott and Tracy can help, they will. Today, Scott’s little sister is thriving in Chillicothe and now studies Chemistry and French in college. Through the health scares, personal losses, and the uncertainty of how the business will pan out, the Mohn’s stayed focused. Through hard work and dedication they built their business knowledge and committed to serving the community fairly and honestly.

You make plans, and circumstances change; you adjust and go on. The Mohn’s always remember God has a plan for all of us; we just have to lean into His calling.
