IVC Ghost Post

Here is what is happening on the IVC scene this May…

This month continues the “lasts” for the Class of 2026!  Last sporting events…last concerts…last time to walk the halls of IVC as a student…enjoy every day with your classmates!

Sunday, May 3rd, the IVC band will perform its final concert of the year at 3pm in the auditorium. This will be Mr. Chapman’s final concert as director of IVC bands as he will be retiring at the end of this school year. All are welcome to attend!  The Co-op banquet will also be held on this day in the Commons at 6pm. This banquet is held to recognize the accomplishments of our students who work half of the day outside of the school building and to celebrate the employers who have given our students the opportunity to acquire skills, explore potential careers, network with professionals while earning money.

Tuesday, May 5th, students will have the opportunity to play outdoor games, listen to music, and purchase a variety of food (could be Taco Bell, pizza, ice cream…who knows?  It is a surprise!) at IVC’s Spring Celebration sponsored by the Everyday Leadership class. Hope for good weather!

Wednesday, May 6, 2026 is the last day of school for IVC’s seniors. This will be an early release day, and seniors will finish their IVC education at 10:45 a.m. Students in  IVC’s choir program will return that evening to perform their final concert of the year at 7pm in the auditorium. This has been a fun group of seniors!  We will miss them, and we wish them the best in all they choose to do!

Wait! The seniors are back at IVCHS Thursday, May 7th from 8:30 – 11am for senior checkout. Wait! The seniors are back at IVCHS again on Thursday, May 14th at 8:30am for the senior breakfast, graduation practice, and Class of 2026 “Senior Walk.”  The class of 2026 Senior Honors Night will also be held Wednesday, May 13th at 6:30pm. We just can’t get enough of the senior class!

Finally, as IVC students study for semester exams and final projects, the Class of 2026 will graduate on Saturday, May 16th at 5pm on Taylor Field.

IVCHS students will have their last day of school on Wednesday, May 20th (if no additional Emergency Days are used). There will be an early release of students at 10:45pm. We hope everyone has a fun and safe summer break!  We look forward to meeting the Class of 2030 as the freshmen (and all IVCHS students) begin the 2026-2027 school year on Wednesday, August 12, 2026! (Back to School Night is Monday, August 10, 2026. We welcome everyone to come and meet your teachers, put supplies in your lockers and walk your schedules to find your classrooms.)
