Optimistically Speaking
May—such a beautiful month! The grass is green, the trees are all budded out, the bushes are flowering, the flowers are gorgeous, and the warmer weather is beginning to be an every day event. We are so blessed with all the beautiful things God gives us.

The Easter Egg hunt in City Park was a big success. Hundreds of kiddos packed the city park to get their candy filled eggs and goodies. Thank you to the Optimists that helped put out the eggs, the Alternative School for stuffing all the thousands of eggs, and a big thank you to Greg Kircher for being the master of ceremonies for the event. Of course, none of this would take place without Shirley Loser facilitating and working so hard to put this event on for all the kids year after year. Thank you Shirley…stop in at Covered Wagon Crafts and tell her how much we appreciate her!
At our April Optimist’s meeting we had Lisa Friedrich, owner of Silver Evolutions, a moving management and organizational company. She had some great tips about moving and getting organized that we could all use.
Teachers that received a $50 check for their classrooms for May were; Kathy Ferguson – South, 3rd grade; Alice Howele – CEC Special Education; and Marie Avarado – CEC, 5th grade.
The Optimist’s bake sale will be May 9th at Picket Fence from 10am-2pm. Please come by to see us and pick up some homemade baked goods.
If you would like to join us and help us bring out the best in our kids and make our town a better place to live, come to a breakfast meeting the first or third Saturday of each month at Grecian Gardens at 8am. We’d love to talk to you!
