Chuck was born on March 10, 1953 in Kewanee, IL to Dale Wilson and Mae Minnie (Thurston) Hollis. He married Barbara J. Howell on March 5, 1977 in Odin, IL.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Barbara; his daughter, Tammy Hollis of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, Ashley Clougherty and Dominic Hollis; his brother, Jerry (Charlotte) Hollis of Kewanee, IL; his sisters, Salenda “Sally” McCullough of Woodbury, TN and Marcine Gilbert of McMinnville, TN; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Shirley Hollis, Norita White and Sharon Sparkman.

Chuck was an electrician for Caterpillar for 35 years and owned Hollis Fence for almost 20 years, serving a lot of the Chillicothe community. He was a member of North Chillicothe Baptist Church, the Peoria Casting Club and Chillicothe Sportsman Club, and was a UAW member. Chuck enjoyed hunting and fishing and active with the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a huge Riverman Hockey fan!

Services were held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 12pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe with visitation at 10am. Burial followed the services at Chillicothe City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Illinois Cancer Care.
