The Chillicothe Voice

Chillicothe Circle of Service

Circle of Service celebrated the 7th birthday of their organization with a Tea Party at Grecian Gardens. In keeping with the theme, decorations included ceramic teapots (which were later given as door prizes), paper teapots filled with tea and chocolates as party favors, and teapot-decorated cookies provided by CC & Sweets. Thanks to the Birthday Party Committee for their hard work on this event, which was enjoyed by both members and guests.

As is our tradition, members donated money to be used for gift cards for teachers in our local schools, allowing them to purchase additional supplies needed by students once the school year starts. These gift cards will be prorated to each school in the IVC district (including Calvary Baptist and St. Edward) based on the number of students and amount collected. They will be distributed shortly after the school year starts. Another collection will be taken at our July meeting.

We reinstituted Appreciation Day in 2025, and our first honoree was Richard Laukitis, a retired attorney, for his pro bono work for our organization. Our Appreciation Day recipient this year is Bonnie Renken, a server at Grecian Gardens, who was honored for her hard work and selfless dedication taking care of our group (and many others) with great service when we meet there. She was given a “Grab & Grow” arrangement from the Picket Fence Foundation, along with a cash award.

Thanks to Grecian Gardens for hosting another enjoyable evening.
