Great things happen when community organizations, local businesses, and city government work together. The Rotary Club of Chillicothe continues its commitment to beautifying the River Corridor Walkway through a partnership with Tin Top Hippie Shop and the City of Chillicothe.
The River Corridor Walkway extends from the public parking area behind the 2nd Street businesses, between Tin Top Hippie Shop and Village Eye Care, to the 900 block of 2nd Street. The collaborative improvement effort has resulted in several upgrades designed to create a more welcoming and attractive downtown space for residents and visitors.
Recent improvements include:
• Installation of approximately 30 new flower plants throughout the walkway
• Completion of brickwork repairs by Green View
• Removal of old landscape timbers
• Weeding, cleanup, and removal of landscape debris
• Addition of new brickwork along the parking lot
• Planting and maintenance of decorative flower planters
These enhancements not only improve the appearance of the River Corridor Walkway but also create a more enjoyable environment for those who live, work, and visit Historic Downtown Chillicothe. The project reflects Rotary’s commitment to service above self and aligns with several of Rotary International’s Areas of Focus, including Community Economic Development and Supporting the Environment. Through partnerships and volunteerism, Rotary continues to invest in projects that strengthen community pride and improve the quality of life for everyone.
