IVC Ghost Post

Here is what has been happening on the IVC scene…
February brought several fun events at IVC. Eighth graders from CEC and Mossville Junior High came to the high school in early February to observe classrooms that will be elective choices for them in their high school years. Stuffed animals were collected for Cuddles with Kindness. Students enjoyed Swing 2025 sponsored by the IVC Spirits Dance Team on Saturday, February 15th. The dance team also entertained the audience at the varsity boys basketball game on Friday, February 14, with its annual boy-girl routine. IVC students also enjoyed World Languages Week as they sampled foreign foods, competed in Trivia games throughout the week, and enjoyed Krispy Kreme donuts that were sold as a fundraiser to support the Tri-Lingual Scholarship that is given to a senior student each year. The IVC District Bands held their annual jazz festival on Wednesday, February 19th to a packed house. IVC also sponsored another Red Cross Blood Drive on February 21st, and we are appreciative of all of the community members who came to IVCHS to donate blood. On February 26th, IVCHS held another successful Grey Ghost Pride Night and welcomed the community into the building to see all of the amazing learning opportunities that are offered for our high school students.
In March, IVC’s Jazz Bands will be wrapping up their season with their annual trip to the Rolling Meadows Jazz Festival (February 28 - March 1). Senior students will have their final opportunity to attend the Senior Retreat held March 5 - March 8. The IVC Theater Department will be performing their spring musical,
Bye-Bye Birdie, Thursday, March 13 - Saturday, March 15. The show begins at 7pm each day, and we hope that you will join us to support our talented actors. Parent-teacher conferences will be held at all schools during the month of March. IVC District schools will enjoy spring break from Friday, March 21 - Sunday, March 30. If you are in-town during this time, consider bringing your lawn mower up to the high school for a tune-up in preparation for spring lawn care. The IVC Band will be holding its annual lawn mower clinic on Saturday, March 29th beginning at 8am. Please see a band member for more information.
Once again, IVCHS thanks our Chillicothe community for your continued support of our sports and activities. Our winter sports are winding down, and our spring sports are warming up. To access schedules for sporting events and activities, please see the IVC district website: www.ivcschools.com and select your student’s school and calendar to view the many events that are scheduled. The website has some minor changes. To view sporting events, click the “More” button in the upper right corner of the IVCHS webpage and then click the “Athletics” button to view the calendar of daily and upcoming competitions. Go Ghosts!
