The Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce held its 22nd annual HLC (Henry, Lacon, and Chillicothe) Canoe and Kayak Jaunt on August 11th. This event had participants of all ages participating in many different colors and designs of canoes and kayaks.

Bob Close was born in Peoria in 1945. He went to Mossville school and then graduated from Chillicothe High in the class of 1963. After high school, he went to the Universal Trade School in Omaha Nebraska to learn to be an auto mechanic.

The City’s Voucher Program continues to run through September 30th, 2024. This program allows citizens to haul one truckload of items not normally picked up by GFL (such as furniture, wood remnants, and mattresses) and take them to their local facility for disposal.
